Well I just received my new Billingham 207. Since you cannot order it from the states I ordered it from Robert White in the UK. Great service. I have a 335 but it is just a little too large for a carry around. I think this one is going to work out great.

I have not had a chance to set it up the way I want it, but I think it will serve my purposes perfectly.

It looks fantastic! I have been eying their products lately, but I just can't justify buying another bag right now. Thanks to bicycles (touring & commuting), I have come to appreciate a quality bag, regardless of the intended purpose.

It really is a great bag. Once I have the inserts as I like I will do a review of it.

I'll probably never pony up the cash to ever own one, but I sure like looking at them.
Congrats.
Post an updated pic when you get it loaded!

They are a little spendy, but seem to be worth the extra money.

I good bag lasts for years with heavy use so it really is not so expensive. The problem is finding that bag that suits you well enough to be a good bag. It looks well built to last a long time.

What color is the bag? I am a bit color blind but that bag is looking dull yellow to me.

It is called tan and chocolate. The trimming is a darker leather they call chocolate.

That's a beautiful looking bag. You can really see the craftsmanship that gos into it. Like the interior of a Bentley or Rolls.
The color to me looks like a muted orangish color, like squash or pumpkin orange...
Definitely post a review.

It is actually a little darker that it appears here. I used the natural light coming from the window so perhaps that makes it appear a little lighter.

Congrats, they make bags which are not only aesthetically pleasing but the quality is as good as it gets! The Prada of Camera Bags :D

I've got a Black Hadley Pro which I purchased 2nd hand, all nice and seasoned. The 7 Series is so tempting, I'm thinking of getting one in the new color scheme - Black with Brown Trims.

Oh so nice...!

That looks ugly IMO. And an idea of a soft bag with a photo insert
not even connected to the bag is pretty lame.

And you are making these comments based on the number of Billingham bags you have used, I assume?

The inserts velcro in. I have been using Billingham (and laterly Domke) bags for over 20 years and that means..... well 2 bags One Billingham 20 years old and One Domke 2 years old.

The Billingham is as good as the day I bought it but a lot better looking as it has aged.

They are not lame, they suite me and my travels very well both bags have been around the globe several times.

But taste is a personal thing and I can understand why some people would find them ugly.

I don't need to use something to think it's ugly. I've seen those in a store.
Plenty enough. I think the best high quality bags right now are Tenba Black Label line.
So much better than Domke, your Billingham and ThinkTank.
But if you like this bag, good for you.

I have the 445 and it's an incredible bag. The quality of these bags is second to none, which is certainly reflected in the price. That said, my wife also doesn't like the way it looks. She said it looks like her grandfather's luggage or something. I think they're super classy bags.

Okay, I guess you at least got a post out of the deal.

Cool Story Bro.

I wasnt aware that a bag made in China bag with plastic buckles, was so much better than a bag that's hand made in England with brass buckles, leather straps and double laminated waterproof canvas.

Now, now. Be nice. Maybe he doesn't have to actually shoot out of the bag. Gotta say though, I prefer the look of matte finish on a good canvas to the shiny nylon that seems to be so popular. Also its longevity. I've worn through several briefcases and backpacks commuting but the canvas Domkes just keep on trucking away.

I have a canvas bag I bought in 1981 that is still going. I got it while working in a camera shop. It was a prototype bag as I recall and I think the company was Billingham but I am not certain. I still use it but it is beginning to get unstitched now. My bag has worked very hard, been versatile housing medium format, 35mm systems and flash systems and tough having lived in 5 countries now (6 if it is actually from England) and travelled in others. It was a bargain ($300 retail $150 wholesale in 1981). The Billingham looks better made than mine by a fair bit so it is a value bag not a luxury one.

so you put me on your ignore list because I do not love your precious bag?
that must be the fanboism put to the next level...

let my pictures prove what I can do without your bag...

Thanks Neil!

It's pretty silly, isn't it? People feel so attached to the objects they payed
big money for or spent time analyzing before purchasing...

I agree that people tend to get overzealous when they've spent big money on something, seeming to almost try to justify the purchase. But I own the much more expensive 445 and truly love it. And like I said earlier, even my wife doesn't like the way it looks.

But my question is why you would take the time to post on a thread where people are celebrating a bag just to say you think it's ugly. That seems like a waste of time and has no real positive impact on this thread or the world. Did someone on the thread cross you at some point? Did someone with a Billingham bag slight you in some way? Why the uninstigated taunting?

Looks great for everyday use. I've owned a 550 for over 10 years now and, as has already been said, it looks even better with age. It's been to the States, Asia, all across North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe as well as the UK and whilst it can get a bit heavy over long distances, like all Billingham stuff it is extremely well made and offers very good protection. I admit that I have a couple of different sized backpacks for going hiking/ walking or mountain biking, but it's my Billingham that takes pride of place and gets the most use.

I have and use the previous version, the 206. Looks like they improved accessibility with the redesigned buckle. It's a good thing--the old one was fussy to use. In any case, the workmanship and materials on Billingham's are second to none. And I like that it doesn't look like a camera bag--I like the stealth aspect.

Their web site on the other hand...

The reason I ordered this one from England (the 207 is not available here yet) instead of getting a 206 is the redesigned buckle and it has the Delta sling, which seems like a better deal to me.
