Question about paramaters on 20D

I've just changed from a 10D to a 20D and I'm a little unsure about one thing

On the 10D I use RAW and I get an embedded JPG file

On the 20D the JPG is seperate from the RAW file

Does Parameter 1, with its increased sharpness, saturation and contrast, apply to both files or just the JPG?

Raw is Raw. Any manipulation would be to the jpgs.

Hey, that's exactly what I was hoping for.

So if I set Parameter 1 I should get JPG like I get out of the 300D and have an unmolested RAW file as well. Great!

Yep, that's correct. Things like the white ballance setting and shutter speed are recorded with the RAW data, your RAW processor can choose to use it or ignore it - you get the option in CS2.
