I have not long purchased a Pro1, with additional macro lens and adapter. I am really enjoying using the digital camera - but would like to find other user's to 'compare' note's with. Every now and then I find in the corners, shadowing. I use photoshop to crop - but it can be annoying if I want the entire frame.

Also, I have been asked to photograph a family wedding in sept...nerves are setting in. I was feeling confident about it and now I am starting to panic - my first CF card after only a few uses played up and had to be returned to the store - I would be devastated if that happened on the day! I have read some great manuals on wedding photography...but would welcome any hints or tips. I will be using my Pro1.

I have a Powershot Pro 1 as well and had an issue with a flash card. I took around 200 pics at a part and on the last pic it said CF error and then showed no pics on the card. I had to use a recovery software to get 'most' of the pics. Some showed double exposed with my previous pics that I had deleted previously. May be because of the the way recovery software read them. In any case, I would highly recommend you format your cards before your party.

As far as shadows in the corners, I have had those as well depending on my attachments and the amount of zoom I am using. I believe if you completely zoom out, that's when you get the dark corners,,, perhaps shadows from the lens attachment.

i have a pro1 and at 28mm you do get those edges darkening.
I have had one problem with a CF card but that was when I put it into the PC PCMCIA card to tansfer and the recover software recovered the lot.

as far as a wedding is concerned I would probably not use the pro1 as the main camera, i would use a film camera - but then i have an EOS5 and all the lenses and flash guns for that.

if you shot in raw - which means you can recover details in shadows and highlights however, thats only about 109 shots per 1GB card.
the last wedding i carried out I took four films at the house/church {144} and a further 3 {108} at the reception cake, party etc. Get to know the camera very well before the wedding so its natural to use. Take spare battery or two, I usually use a tripod so I can postion the groups and also a off camera flash.
goto the venue before the event about the same time as the wedding so you can see where the sun is and decide on some places for group shots and bride/groom shots etc

good luck

Thanks for the info. It make's sense when you comment on the zoom being fully extended and then the corner shadows appearing. Thank-goodness for photoshop! As for the wedding, I have no other camera to use but the pro1. I have had it approx 3 months - so am becoming familiar with it. I will use macro for a few shots on the wedding day (which means attaching the adapter + lens) of dress detail and ring shots. This is my first wedding as far as photography goes - but I have video'd a few and created DVD's...which I found just as stressful - although the outcome was pleasing. I still have to invest in a tripod and as I only have a 512mb CF card - I will need another. That's the attraction of digital, you can take as many as you like - and pick the best - no unknowns. *g*

the darkening at the corners of your photos is called 'vignetting' and apparently the Pro 1 is susceptible to it when you use a large (small f number) aperture.
