Just had a play with a photo I took @ Ford Fair, Was edited on 'picknic' on flickr. I don't have photoshop at the moment as I've lost my disc and have a new laptop! So the dust marks on the pictures i'm aware of and can't get rid just as yet!

I haven't really been into editing my photos (only normally use PS for cropping and removal of dustmarks if any.) so thought i'd have a go, But I actually think I may start doing some more... What you all think? :)

I like it, sometime when you shoot car events some elements seem to be over exposed because of the time of day most events are and the settings on your camera to get the blur effect with the wheels/ back ground. I normally do a little bit of editing to mine as well to darken some of the colors.... But i think the edited photo looks great and if you have the time to do it i would. When i get home this evening ill give it a shot if you don't mind.

I like the treatment, but basically the image lacks any drama. There's an impression of speed but no excitement - it could be a stationary car with a bit of blurring. sorry to be blunt, but perhaps that's why 100 views but not comments.

I like the pic, but the white balance is off, too yellow.

Your not blunt, thats what i'm after. Top picture is the original with nothing done to it what-so-ever. I don't get by what you mean 'no drama' its got smoke pluming off all four wheels! LOL

Without no comments, I won't pick up on whats best to do/whats not/and where i'm going wrong.

Thanks for the input, likewise Chrisa :)

Sometimes folks just have nothing to say;)

The nose of the car seems soft compared to the rest of the body...some larger spots of what appears to be sensor dust?
The edit is better than the original.

Already aware :)

Everyone has something to say, ;)

What would cure the softness of the nose, shooting in a higher or lower F number?:)

I prefer the first version because I get a sense of what is outside the course. In terms of color saturation in the second it tends to add a more artificial feel to the image. I might mask the car off and play with the contrast independent of the background.
