Nice shots. It was a huge crowd and a great day.

Just a tad more sharpening and I'd put #2 on a wall for sure!

Great shots, #2 is framed really well. Like Jay said you could still add some sharpening to the shots and I think they would even be better.

I was there as well Ajunkie, it was a perfect day for the air show. Wish the blue angels went up sooner, the latter part of the day did not bode well for lighting them up in flight.

Ps, you must've been closer than I was in the 'common' folk section. This year, all I get in front of me are arms raised up and people shooting video on their point-n-shoots and phones...geez. Once the birds were up, I managed to take get some pics. Permission to post a few in your thread?

One question, why the f14-f18 apertures? Shutter speeds were good for me at f5.6 or so.

I was kind of wondering this myself. I notice dust bunnies in #1 which shouldn't be there if one is shooting wide open to achieve maximum shutter speed.

just out of curiousity is the small arial/fin just backwards of the pit part of the upgrade kit?

Yeah me too. I did manage to catch one of the #7's giving media rides on Friday before all of the practice runs began.

I shot these on Friday during practice runs. I flew in on a company airplane at 8:30 on Friday morning to stage the plane and set up our booth. Fortunately, I had a lot of standing around time and was allowed to walk right up to midfield at the fence line right next to the skytalker and snap away without having to mess with the crowd; however, speakers did get in my way from time to time.

How about we start a running thread since there seems to be a bunch of photogs from this forum that were there?

I shot on shutter priority. I didn't realize it was using that small of a stop. I was too busy trying to keep the aircraft in the frame. I'm not familiar enough with photography yet to shoot in manual. I still have a lot to learn.

Yes somehow I managed to get dust on my image sensor which the auto clean feature can't get rid of. That evening I tried to clean the sensor manually with a bulb blower, but I spent all day Saturday working our booth and showing off our airplane (our little DA20 received a lot more attention than any of the other GA planes parked next to us) and haven't had the opportunity since to see if it worked or not.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure there's someone here that would know though.
