as the statement says, it did ok i shot on high speed and AI servo, i think about 85 or 90% of the shots are sharp, i will say i am disappointed that it takes different batteries than the 40d, but thats not too big of a deal. anyway let me know what you think you can view more at www.glacier-imagery.com

Good man.. been waiting for someone to use the 7d for a bit of mx.. also using a 40d but wishing to upgrade one of them to either a 7d or 1d mk3. So how good is the AF compared to the 40d, is it faster? I take it the lens used was a 70-200? what was the WB you were using?
1 nice shot,
2 you must have sold that shot to the rider, or a mate of the one behind.. love that one

i used cloudy wb, yes 70-200 non is 2.8
um, with the 7d on slow it is accurate and fast, however on high speed its not as accurate as i would have liked it to be, but its still good and yes its very fast i think it does a much better job than the 40d, and its half again faster so...
this is the only outing i have had it on, i am goign to take it to indoor karate tonight, since it gets dark at like noon (not really more like 6pm) here its going to be dark.
yes i did sell to that rider,
whoo hooo

ya that is my favorite mx pic i have taken, after going through the pictures alot of them are not as sharp as i would have liked, they are still very usable, but not razor sharp. im alittle disappointed in that.

Did it seem to 'track' as well as the 1D's?

The 2nd shot is pure gold. Something I'd expect to see posted on random forums with a huge "PWNED!!1!!11" caption on it.

Love 2 and 5.
How is the battery life on this new battery?

#2 should be sold at a high price to the rider in the front....or to a company that makes goggles or chest protectors...LOL

An OK start #1-3 and 4 seem quite soft or OOF to me. Did you mean to have # 2-3-4 and 5 with tilted horizons? Most all shots look like they could use a contrast boost.

Be careful of the way you tilt your horizons. Personally I don't like shots where you can tell that the horizons have been tilted, but if you are going to do it, you should do it in a way that enhances the action. In a corner the further MX rider is leaned over, the faster they are going. You have tilted the camera (whether inadvertently or purposely) clockwise, but this has caused the riders to look like they are less leaned over than they actually are. If you tilted anti-clockwise, you would make the riders look like they are leaned over more, a great trick when you're trying to make riders look good so they'll buy photos from you. if you are going to tilt though, make sure that there are as few clues as possible as to what direction vertical actually is, trees, fenceposts and horizons are all dead giveaways.

As a dirt rider myself I laughed HARD at #2 :D. Poor guy getting roosted pretty bad haha. Nice set! I can't wait til Barber finishes the dirt track at the park.

Hi
Sorry to say it but I hope for more razor sharp pics with 7D that other xxD. Perhaps it was one of the first timed with the new house, pardon me if so. ;)
