1. Shot into the sky with very little cloud at late afternoon, almost all white back ground. So, I played with the Color Curve to have a mean BG. I also have the sky blue BG under Flickr but I think I like this one better. Please let me know what you think. TIA.

I like the gourd shot. The first one, seems interesting, great details and good lighting.

In the #2 shot I really like the lighting. For one thing, it is giving you the illusion of 3-dimensionality.
I make the assumption that your light source here was natural light of a very overcast day producing very diffuse light. I would be interested in knowing if that is in agreement with your records for this shot.
There is very good contrast and color saturation, assuming that the lighting was very diffuse. I would assume it was created primarily in post processing.
I think it is a winning picture.
Congratulations!

In the first shot, if you can soften the edges slightly between the T-Rex and the sky, then you can mitigate the cut-and-paste look or the cheap special F/X from badly executed blue/green background shot.
I love the sky, btw

Thanks Lightworks. I have a blast learning PS from scratch. It is so much fun.

I tried to use the Blur tool to soften the edges but it did not do much. Is that the right tool to use? The sky was oz with adjusted color curve from PS. I did not like the cut-and-paste look but did not know how to get rid of it. Thanks Mu Eugene for your time and advice!

Thank You very much Bob!!!!!!!
It meant a lot to me to hear good words from you Sir.
You hit every nails to the head!
Light source was natural light on a over cast late afternoon. Contrast and color saturation were created by PP.
I am amazed with how you can recognize all those details bw!

Maybe the yellow gourd above your copyright should have been turned over to hide the dirt, but otherwise a fantastic shot!
