Welcome to the Forum, The photo is crisp and clear, I would make a small suggestion, just in my opinion, I would try a different angle, maybe from the top or the side, And maybe a little tighter shot. It would make for a more dramatic shot.

hi Bald Eagle!
Thanks for your advice. This is my story, when I took the pic, it was raining and I had an umbrella in my left hand and he mushroom was way up the tree  I was waking on mud and If I were to slide, I would end up falling on water (the tree was at the edge of a lake). I know this is mikimouse compared with some of the stuff people have to go throw to get some of the wild-life pics but this was my first 'wildlife' one :p next time I'll bring with me a frozen-food plastic bag to protect the camera. Do you usually wear a UV filter in the lense? (I have mine all the time).
if you want to see some more details of the mushroom I can blow it up a little (but not all the way)

I dont blame you for being careful. The second shot has a lot more appeal to me. I have a Polarizer filter that i use occasionally, depends on the lighting. Keep posting photos, would love to see them as you get them.

Just an FYI, those are referred to as bracket fungus.
