Took this at the zoo a couple weeks ago and have been playing with. Suggestions for improvement welcome and encouraged.

Bring the right slider in on levels to brighten it, add a slight S curve...

Nice shot, but it's tonally flat and needs sharpening. Check the histogram below. You're missing a big chunk of the lighter tones. I adjusted levels as indicated, sharpened, and boosted contrast a bit.

mask and dodge the eyes

The eyes have it FstopMiami123! They are piercing the way you edited it. It's like the kitty is saying, "don't $^%$ with me buddy!" just from that bit of tweaking.
