Really nice! #1 is really nice. I see you've gone for a slightly desaturated look which if fine. I like that. What on my monitor are shots that look just a tad overexposed. Could be the monitor. See if anyone else concurs. #2 and 4 faces are the areas that appear overexposed to me.

Hi Swimchic , I have never been in this section before and passed comment , so you are the first .

in my opinion only :

1 ... I like this one , very happy simple family portrait ....but I would lose the sun breaking through the hedge .

2 ...
a) lose the tree in the background as I was drawn towards it .

b) I like this , a natural shot ,if a little dark in the eyes .

and I agree I think the highlights are blown on both .

3 ... ok shots

4 ... Maybe have a small squeaker when you have set the shot , to make the little fellow look at you and not Dad . And the same again for me , the trees , unless directly in frame need to go .

I hope these comments help

Nice job! I like the colour tones in these. I'm not sure if I like the sun in the back of #1- it draws my attention away from the family.
Also on #4 - is that a hair elastic on Mom' s arm? You could clone that out but I doubt that they would notice.

Thanks for all the replies!
I personally like the sun breaking through on the first one, I did re position the camera a few times to lose it for some though, so mom can choose if she wants it or not :)
I was not going for a desaturated look on that one at all, does it really look that way? I processed it the same color pop way as the others :( Maybe I need to go over that one again.
I agree the trees in the backgrounds of some are distracting, but we were in a forest, so I thought I did a really good job of positioning them were it was the least distracting. I will for sure go over some of them and get rid of the trees in the background though - thanks!
Oh, and good catch on the elastic on her arm, I need to get rid of that for sure!
Thanks a bunch guys!

I love them! The exposures look nice, colors look great, and their smiles are perfect. I can't imagine that the family will not be tickled with them... A beautiful location too! :)

LOVE the first one. The whole family looks relaxed and happy, and the fall colours and the sun really make the shot.

I also really like #2 b, but I'm wondering if it would look better in colour.

Great shots. They are all face sqiare to the camera. Try to mix up the poses.

nice family photos. Here in South Dakota, all the color is gone. It snowed and melted and there is a lot of mud.

Watch the posture of the adults, especially Dad in the first one. I like the sun in the hedge though. Great expressions, great poses, a little curious about why mom is sitting on the road in the last one, but having said that --- I think you did an excellent job on those. It isn't easy to wrangle kids, especially the youngest boy, and come out of a four person session with shots like this. Good job!

No one else added to snyderman's comment, but they do look a little bit bright on my monitor too, for what it's worth. Other than that, I think they look great.

I am looking at them on an uncalibrated iMac, even with the brightness settings turned down pictures usually look pretty bright to me.

They look fine on my Del monitor, but that one is uncalibrated too :D

That's why I stayed out of that discussion. ;)

haha - thanks guys! I do like them a little bright, that's just my preference because Millers seems to print a little darker.
Mom picked out the outfits, I just went over to help her finalize them :)
Thanks again for all the feedback!
