When the Moors controlled Cordoba, Spain, They built a beautiful mosque (largest at the time) on the site of a Christian church. Later, the mosque was converted to a Catholic cathedral. The mix of architecture was captivating. Some arches like those shown in the first photo (mosque area) are visible at both edges of the second photo (cathedral area).
