I know all about lensrentals.com, rentglass.com, borrowlenses.com and the others. Please do not point me in that direction. I am looking locally. I've also e-mailed Midwest Photo Exchange re: renting. I have rented the 300 2.8 before and liked it. However, I would like to get my hands on a 400 2.8 to see which I prefer. I know that I couldn't go wrong with either, but wanted to know if I like the reach of the 400. If you have one that you would be willing to "rent" for a day, please let me know. I would need it on 11/15. I am insured and will provide a certificate of insurance naming you the loss payee. Why, when the online rental companies you named are all excellent and provide exactly what you're looking for?

Because the online rental companies don't offer a 1 day rental and the shipping is pretty steep.
