Hi, I've just discoved that from time to time... my IS lens freezed the camera (both D60 and 1D). Has anyone else run across this problem? I can tell its going to happen as the viewfinder displays f 0.0 (I have to turn the camera off and on to continue shooting).
Thanks
Raymond

I've got a 70-200 IS too and time to time I get a ERR01 on a D60 body. Just have to turn off the camera to solve the problem. I've used that camera 2 weeks and it happened maybe 4 or 5 times....

Raymond,

Bummer! It's not happened to me - fingers crossed :) -my suggestion is to give the electrical contacts a good clean.

Had the same problem. Sent the lens in twice to have repaired. Canon replace the lense the last time.

Mine seemed to freeze the most when using AIServo. Like when tracking a football player. So when it frooze I missed a shot.

The new lense went all season without a hitch.

I just purchased one for my 1Ds. I have not used it so I cannot comment. Has anyone else seen this on a 1Ds body?

Hmm I have the 80 - 200 2.8L, never happened to me...yet. But yea I work at a camera store for an after school job and this type of problem happened on a Minolta Mazxxum 5, and the circuitry on the lens wasnt in contact with the camera itself. You probably need send it in and get it looked at.
