Hey all, looking over the amazing pics here it's easy to find inspiration. I haven't tried astrophotography before, but looks like a bit of fun at the very least.

Question is, would my current telescope be an appropriate platform to attempt with my 50D? And also, what do I need to attach it. Would only plan on starting with the simpler subjects to see if I have further interest.

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks!

I dont know if you'll be able to reach focus with that setup, but to try you need to buy:
1) 2" T-adapter
2) Canon T-ring

This is assuming the opening diameter of your focuser tube is 2", which I think it might be. I think its a 2" with a 1.25" adapter so you can use eyepieces, right?

You'll only really be able to do moon/planetary stuff with the setup, but it should give you a taste.

Jmx, thanks! Moon/planetary should be fine to get an idea. Cheap/easy way to take a look anyway, will give it a go.
