Has anybody experienced this?

I came home from a shoot where I had viewed images on camera that I had taken during the day. When I got home and put card into reader and then tried to view in Bridge it stated that it was corrupt and then when I put the card back into the camera it said on camera 'cannot create folder'. Now when I put any card into the reader and I have now bought a new reader in case the old one was the problem. Any card that I have formatted and taken images on it now reads EKS[DIGITAL in my computer instead of EOS. I have search Google and have found nothing to give me clues. Is the problem in the camera or the laptop pc? Although the card is reading the same on my desktop also and in my friends destop.

Desperate and confused

Sorry, can't help. But you may want to include the camera model and card model for others.

Sounds like the card. Take a look at the file recovery software (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=670801) sticky for options.

Hi
Thanks for replies. My camera is a Canon 1D MarkIII. The cards are all Sandisk Extremes IV's. I have a acessed that it cannot be the card as it is happening to all cards that are put into my camera and into any 3 of our PCs and also on my friends laptop.

I have managed to recover all images using Zar which is fantastically simple.

But still my images come up in a folder called EKS[Digital and still when opened one file inside will say it has been corrupted. WEIRD. I am wondering now if it has something to do with the camera.

Are you saying that all your cards are corrupted? And they all happened to get corrupted at the same time? That's really odd. What are the chances of all your cards getting corrupted at the same time unless they were all together and somehow got zapped together.

Are the cards permanently damaged or can you reformat the cards and reuse them?

If the images are recoverable and intact, then it might just be the directory that's been corrupted. If that's the case and every card you put into the camera comes out corrupted, it might be your camera that's doing it when it goes to update the directory.
