B/W power

I was photoshoping a red rose and ended up with a B/W picture.
Just to show where the B/W picture was coming from I made this
montage.
I think this is an exemple of how much B/W can be powerfull .
I am personnaly kind of fascinated by the "eye catching" B/W result.

The rose is a nice subject for black and white. Although I think the lustful expressive quality may be lost in the conversion, the Black and White is better and more mature. The BW image has a subtle, delicate nature that suits the gentle folds of the flower petals. I like it.

Thats a very cool effect - at first it looked to me as if it were a b&W photo of a rose in the middle of a red-rose photo, and it is! Except that its a "crop" of sorts of one nice photo. I like it in this case, although its not normally my style.
