Hey guys,
Just need some ideas on what to use for my next product photography. Client wants a "high-tech" feel on the background and props. I was thinking using some sheet metal to lay the products on. They're small items anyway. Or even grab some carbon fiber sheets and use those as well.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks ;)

There is a store here in town that has clip boards that are made from computer boards. Im thinking of getting one and taking off the clip and useing it as a shooting surface. Im sure you can find them on the web somewhere.

What about visiting a fabric store and looking at textured synthetic fabrics for blinds?

Couple of things to try:
Rubber Mat flooring tiles like those made by Pirelli with the small raised dots
Plastic grating like that used over in ceiling flourescent light fixtures
Carbon Fiber Fabric
Dimaond Tread polished aluminum plate
Flat computer ribbon cables
Brush polished aluminum plate
Teflon coated griddle or pan if the item is small

perforated aluminum...like the kind you find on computer cases with all of the little holes in it.

Why not shoot on gray paper and then use cgtextures.com to put anything you want on the background....

Go to Home Depot and look at the big sheets of steel. They are inexpensive and make cool backgrounds.

Carbon fiber texture is about as high tech as you can get with regards to fabrics/textures :)
