Nice shots!
If you are rain concerned i recommend Aquatech Sports Shield. Not cheap but well efective.

Doesn't look like a very fun shoot in all that rain, but came away with some nice shots.

As an alternative to the Aquatech, I'd recommend the Griffgear shields...in fact, I've got a cover for the 300mm f/2.8 that I'm looking to sell.
PM me if interested!
Out of interest, what's the Football Data Co stance on Scottish Premier photos? I thought they were the same restrictions as Football League stuff?!? Not that I'm trying to get you to remove shots or that i'm bitter...but I'd hate to see you lose the licence!

love the first one, maybe crop a bit more. put a bit more vibrancy in it. and more contrast.

Hi Noisy the shots were taken in miserable Paisley, glad i did not get any rain into my gear.My local team won and got through to the next round of the cup.So it was worth getting soaked.

what did you clean those up with? looks great. I've been using aquatech with my 300mm f/2.8 for about a year. It's nice but the window is a little out of place to see the LCD screen on my 5D MK II. It keeps everything nice and dry and dont forget the eyepiece.

i used a small bit of Noise ninja, i have had problems with body parts looking like plastic, so i only use lightly.

buy yourself a plastic bag keeps the rain out , or spend stupid money on a camera+lens cover if you are worried about image

I have the Hydrophobia by Think Tank... love it. Especially the way it was designed to go on in preperation of rain . It works and allows me to do my job.

To each his own ... but when Im protecting $10,000+ in equip I dont mind spending $150.
I doubt people buy from me for my rain cover, but I will disagree with you about image. Image is EVERYTHING ... perceived value is one of the basics of economics.

It rains here frequently, mostly before it gets to Scotland, I might add. If you're like me you'll have umpteen wet weather trousers/ even ski trousers when it gets cold and wet. I had an old pair of ski trousers that got too tight in the waist and I cut off the leg, used the elasticated strap off an old pair of shin guards with velcro attached and got the missus to stitch it altogether and I now have a totally weatherproof lens and camera cover thats fleece lined and keeps the hands warm in the winter. Cost me all of £0 and it looks so cool everyone else that sees it wants one too.
Before I got the cover I took a chance in the rain with my 20D and I almost lost it when water got through the control panel screen and all readings changed to 888. Only thing that saved it was a week in the hotpress with every oriface stuffed with silicon beads salvaged from shoeboxes.

How dare you make your own, image is everything:confused: especially sitting in the rain on the side of a muddy pitch you just never know who will see you.. I call it looking good in the shower syndrome......

I wasnt talking about "image" from a rain cover genius.. image in general.
I used the pants from a rain suit for quite a while actually... worked fairly well but the cover I use now has a lot of features that make it easier for me to take pictures as well as protecting my equip without worries. I still have the rain pants in my truck as backup always. I didnt cut off any pants legs though... one leg went down the monopod and the other went down the lens..pants opening gave me acess to the camera

300 2.8 ... so I guess thats a big lens. The snaps at the ankle made the leg fit very snug. Not sure the 400 would fit in them though
