Hello,
I need to get a new D-SLR. What do you guys think it's better ?
The D60's successor with a 8 (?) Mpixels or a 1D with 4.1 Mpix ? I had a D30 with 3 Mpix and I want more Mpix to be able to have better prints (20x30cm or even higher)
As the D60's successor will *normally* be announced at +- 2999$ and a 1D costs only $3,799.95 @bhphotovideo what would be the best choice ? D60' replacer or 1D? A brand new camera or 1.5 years old camera?
Thanks for your comments...

oops I forgot to mention this: I mainly shoot fashion shows (pics made for the fashion agency), race cars, holiday trips, and this year, I'll have a wedding to shoot. I'm not a pro.
Thanks.

the 1d is good for images twice the size you are looking at (up to Super A3 is fine) the extra megapixels on D60 or successor would give you room to crop images however there are many many advantage of 1d over d60 in terms of speed , autofocus, ruggedness etc

The 1D would be a much better choice for what you want then the D60. We are close enough to PMA that it is worth waiting in order to take a look at whats around the corner. If the new camera(s) don't greatly improve the D60's AF then go with the 1D.
Check out the price of the 1D at BestPriceAudioVideo.com. This is an awesome place to deal with.

Ask the fashion agency how big prints they need to make. Based on that info get either 1D or 1Ds. If you mainly shoot sports and fast movement, then 1D is the only choice now.
