I'm searching for some books on photography. While I consider myself an amateur photographer, I do know the basics about aperture, shutter speed, etc.
Someone in another thread posted that "How to Photograph Your Life" (Kelsh) was a good pickup.
Can someone help me find a few others? I have a baby coming in about 4 weeks and want to make sure I'm taking the best possible shots of him, while increasing my photography skills all around.
Thanks!

Bryan Peterson has written two books I picked up and enjoy, one is called "Understanding Exposure" and the other "Learning to see creatively". The first book is a bit "heavy" but it also made me want to shoot landscapes and trying out his technique, and it works! Even if I understood apertures, shutterspeed and DOF, this was a bit of an eye opener as how to use manual mode, etc.
Browse around on Amazon.com and see what fun books you might encounter. I'm sure topics as child photography, to get the most out of your photo's of your child will be represented too. They seem to have all types of photography, for all tastes and whishes. I just need a larger budget to buy more books! :D

Thanks very much for all the info! I went ahead and picked up these two books to get me started:
How to Photograph Your Life: Capturing Everyday Moments with Your Camera and Your Heart (Kelsh)
Mastering Digital Photography (Busch)
Both got very good reviews on Amazon. Will let you know if I find them helpful or not.
Thanks again for the help! :)

I just read "Learning to see creatively" by Bryan Peterson. Well put together, and some good stuff to think about and practice.

Bump!!
How about some recommendations for books. I'm not really looking for technical books but more of reference material for different styles of photographers. Such as Brassai, a fashion photog from the 20's.
I would like to pick up some books on some well know photographers or other perhaps other type of photography game changers.

Anything by Joe McNally would be a good read too! I loved Hot Shoe Diaries!
