I also posted this in critiques corner. Not sure where to post or if it's ok to post in 2 places.
Here's my first shot at studio lighting (Calumet 200's & umbrella). The pictures are unprocessed other than crop, WB, & minor exposure. CC is greatly appreciated.
#1 - 1 light & umbrella on subject. 1 light on background.

I like it! For a first timer it looks good to me.
My only suggestion would be a reflector on the left side to fill the very dark shadows.
Definitely on the right track!
PS. the kids are adorable!

Thanks for the comments on the shots and the the kids. The little boy is mine and he's easy to take pictures of because he's always smiling.
I'm really loving this studio lighting. I used to only shoot wide open natural light and have finally discovered what f8 is. :D

these look great.... you have made a good start.... keep taking the pics and doing more experimenting with the lights.

they are really good shots, they babys face seams emaculate. really good for first shots.
