Hi,

I had problem with A70. I think my batteries were very low, so as soon as I turned on the camera somehow shutter remained open and camera became unresponsive. No response to switch off button as well.

I removed the batteries, and still shutter was open. But when I put on new batteries it worked fine. Is this normal?

Shouldn't it auto-switch off if batteries doesn't have enough charge?

Yes, it should either not turn on at all, or, if the batteries run out while it's turned on, it should close down. I don't know why it would do this, it sounds a bit odd. But if you've had no problems since then, I shouldn't worry about it too much.

One last thing, though, I hope you're using high capacity (eg 2500mah) rechargable NIMH batteries and not disposables, as the NIMHs will last SOOOO much longer :)
Hope your camera's ok now!
