#1 too dark ( could be my monitor) The pose is good for a snap shot, but not for a "selling" pro picture.
#2- too dark also. I think you could benefit from some fill flash on both of them. Also moms shoulder looks really large and weird. She is leaning on it too much.

#1 - Like the others said - too dark. Watch shutter speed (1/60th) as motion blur may kick in. Watch cutting off fingers, etc. I like the shot itself and I think you captured a nice moment for them.

#2 - Again, too dark. Watch your focal length (18mm) as this will cause some distortion in close up objects. That probably contributed to the Mom's shoulder looking weird. My eye is drawn to the background bridge because it is lighter than the rest. Your attention will be brought to the lighter part of a photo.

Just a suggestion - watch your in-camera framing. When you frame too close in-camera and you go to print a typical size (5x7, 8x10) something is going to be cut out. It will print fine as a 4x6 or 8x12 tho. Leave some room to where you can crop for the size you want to print. Hope this helps.

I couldnt work out how to post it on this thread so i have created another one.
