This was a kinda last minute wedding I shot for an old friend. I probably should have said no, but she really likes my photography, and wanted me to do her wedding. So I did my homework(lots of useful info here, thanks to everyone that shares), and I think they could have done worse. :) Here's a few I liked.

Had to put the two together to explain the laugh. :)

What processing technique or action? I like the one of the bride and the horse.

As for the first two, I would recommend removing the stake of then tent.

great images for a FIRST wedding!

Thanks.

Yea, when they decided to hide behind the tent for the ceremony, no one thought about her train catching on the stake as she rounded the corner. Could have been VERY bad. :)

The horse pic. I usually play with a shot like that till I get what I'm looking for, and never remember the exact steps, sorry. I likely used TRA's yin/yang to get the lighting the way I wanted, and did a "traditional" looking color image. Then to punch up the colors and give it an over all smooth look, I went with Topaz. Likely did a few steps, in layers so I could adjust the opacity of each, as well as mask specific details. For that look I usually use Portrait Drama, Portrait Smooth, and possibly Exposure Stretch, to get that semi-painted, over the top look. I printed that pic, and it actually looks VERY cool on paper. Not too-overdone, like the shot above it, which was meant to look comical.

I wish my first wedding was that good! I love 2 and 3 (#3 would be my fave!) and they look like a fun fun couple which is always great to have! :):)

I am normally a fan of tilts but I find #8 and #9 a tad too much, I have to tilt my head to look at them.

Thanks Svetlana. After reading Suzy's note about posting too many images, I realized I miss counted(should have numbered them), so changed the text here: That's the full frame in 9. I didn't like it at first, but then it grew on me, so I put it in my keeper bucket. I have an 8x10 cropped version of #8(horse shot), with most of the tilt removed, that I like better in some ways but not others. They have both versions.

Here's the more square, straightened version:

Please review the image posting rules. Only 8 embedded images are allowed per thread. #'s 9 & 10 are linked.

mmmmm x2 on the tilts. A bit too extreme - trust that your photography speaks for itself and doesn't need to be tilted to make it interesting. And I don't know what you did with the colors in 8, but please never do that again. It's painful.

BUT, on the whole, amazing job for your first wedding. Keep shooting them, they only get easier and more fun.

Thanks all for the comments and feedback. It is a fun couple, and was very fun to shoot. This was only my 4th paid job, so I was a bit nervous. They knew the risks, but that didn't help the pressure I felt. :) My goal was to not blow it, and was happy I got a few winners along with decent overall coverage. Looking through the shots I blew was kinda crushing, but the pressure was a rush, and the overall experience a definite thrill. I think I could get addicted to shooting weddings. I know I have a lot to learn, but that's all part of the fun. Hopefully I can work a few more.

And I don't know what you did with the colors in 8, but please never do that again. It's painful.
LOL I assume you mean the bedroom shot(labeled 7, but 8 if you count the first one as two). Yea, probably too much. :)

They look fine for a 1st wedding. Although with #6 it looks like you missed the moment. Laughing isn't the moment but the feeding of cake was. The bride is laughing quite a lot and I doubt she would find it to be a flattering photo of herself even though others might like it. Most people don't like how they look when they are laughing in a photo.

Would the OP, or anyone else, be kind enough as to direct me towards a tutorial on how to acomplish a look such as the one with the bride and bride's maid. I just love this look but for the life of me I just can't seem to find anything on how it is accomplished.

Thanks to anyone willing to help.
