Picture taken May 14, 2005, from onboard the M/S Aria, on the lower Danube River. The river is above flood stage this spring. We had a marvelous cruise up the river from Constanza to Budapest. Canon S500.

I like the image but its slightly over-exposed - check your levels and adjust them - straighten the horizon too ;) - you might also like to play with the blue curve as there's a lot of blue in the image - this should help bring out some of the greens.
Great image all the same
Cheers

David, thanks for the help. The second version has a blue correction, slight brightness adjustment, and a slight cropping to reduce amount of sky. I know that the color balance is better, as the brownish tinge on the Danube is real.
I am still learning my way around Picture Window Pro - I accepted some of its automatic adjustments, for example.

One last attempt on this image. (My processing skills have a ways to go.) Went back to the original image (uncropped), sharpened it(which helped), blue corrected it, and lightly increased the color saturation. This helped bring up the green of the distant shore. Knocked a bit off the upper end of the intensity scale, which slightly improved the sky.
I now clearly see what appears to be a weak second image of the tree trunks - I think that I may have taken the picture through the window of our cabin on the M/S Aria. That might also explain why the original image lacked "snap".

Good attempt Harold
Here's what I did using what I outlined in my reply plus a little darking for the reflections.

I like your greens, David. I took your version and sharpened it in Picture Window Pro, with the following result. I like it the best of any so far.

The second and third edits definitely improved the trees and the water, but the sky has taken on a green cast. I'm not a photoshop expert by any means, so bear my comments with a grain of salt.
