you might like to tell people what you intend to power up, that way they may be able to offer some suggestions... ;)

The two most common and reliable solutions are the PCB Vagabond II and the Innovatronix Explorer XT and the newly released XT SE which is designed for multi-voltage strobes.

The Vagabond II is less expensive, only available and more popular in the US whereas the the Explorer XT (SE) can be ordered in the US but is the more popular solution in the UK and Europe.

I have the vagabond ii. I ran two 500 w/s profoto lights on it and a fog machine last night. Works great and doubles as a sandbag. I considered a DIY pack I saw online but it would cost about the same.

One small problem I had with the digital profotos is when running two at full power off one vagabond the second light would occasionally switch off at firing. When running one light at full power or two lights at moderate power I had no problem. With analog lights this wouldn't happen.

That's the classic problem with multi-voltage strobes and portable batteries. That's why Innovatronix came out with the Explorer XT SE.

I will look into the explorer packs if the problem gets worse. I learned to listen for the two ready beeps. If I only heard one I knew the light reset on me. Too bad I couldn't turn it back on from the remote. After reseting the D1 has to be turned on at the light before it gives control to the remote. (after physically switching on I can remotely turn it on/off until the reset trips)
