Canon tele 2x?

Hi.

Now that the G2 is real, do you think that Canon(1.5x) will soon offer new accessories like a real 2x tele converter? The Olympus B-300(1.7x) being rare to find, maybe somebody ( at Olympus or Canon) is working right now on this.
Do someone here heard or read something about this?
Is it possible technologicaly speaking to make a 2x tele for the G1 or G2?

I just got a Tiffen Megaplus 2x telephoto converter for my G1. Seems to work okay, though there is a bit of vignetting below f4 aperatures.
