View Full Version : a40 video capture from PC / webcam win xp

i purchased an a40,my frist question is;can I use the camera as a webcab,or can I directly capture video's with software e.g videoimpression from pc?
I tried videoimpression 1.6,but when start capturing video,I got the error message "cannot find VFW-Driver" or something.
my configuration:win xp
Please, can anybody help me?

You can not use it as a webcam. I don't know about capturing video strait to the pc. I'd have to say unlikley.

Just to back up what Conk has said, no you are wasting your time trying to use your A40 as a webcam (it can be done with a video capture card and a lot of hassle). If you want one, then spend $50 to $100 and buy a dedicated webcam and use your digital camera for taking pictures. As far as using VideoImpression is concerned, take videos with the A40 and bring them into VideoImpression, rearrange them and join them together to make a longer video than the 10 secs the camera allows. This is how movies are made, everything is recorded in short bursts and then joined together at the editing stage.
