Hi,

I'm looking for motorsports enthousiasts from USA, Japan, GB, anywhere outside of Europe, who would like to shoot motorsport (cars) for www.autosportnieuws.be and www.grandprixfotografie.nl on a voluntary basis.
We are a Belgian website with over 30,000 unique visitors each month, providing motorsport news from around the world.

We try to provide media accreditation for events, so you will be able to take the best shots possible. Your photo's will be published on mentioned websites.

If interested please contact me through a personal message here, I will then give you my email.

I will need to see a portfolio, to be sure your qualities are sufficient.

Regards,

Olivier

Hey guys,

the reactions are overwhelming, I didn't expect so many to send a message :).

Give me a few days time to read all the messages, I will try to send everyone a pm back.

Thanks,

regards Olivier

I am a very experience motorsport photographer, but alarmed to see this..
on a voluntary basis

Is that for real?

I assume you will be wanting these guys to have their own kit, and the minimum of £5 Million Public Liability Insurance as required my most UK race circuits.

Considering youre large number of visitiors and the advertising on your site, it seem harsh to be wanting the fruits of someones hard earned work for no reward.

Anyoine considering this please be aware of;

Most 'major' events prohibit you from reselling any images or using them for anything other then the media organisation your are 'signed in' under.

I also notice there are no personally credited images.

Of course if you wish to just get some in front of the fence experience, then go for it

sorry, but 'I'm out', unless the terms change.

(and yes I do have all my own kit, and the appropriate insurance, experience, and already have accreditation for most UK circuits.).

Please check http://www.autosportnieuws.be/gallery/index.php and see that most photo's are watermarked with the photographer's name (those wich aren't, are so by choice of the photographer himself)

Again, it is voluntary, so anyone's own choice.

Swaffs you clearly don't need any help on getting a chance to shoot in front of the fence, maybe others do. Good luck and have fun at the track. :D

My bad  - good to see.

To get your own accreditaiton in future, examples of published work will be needed. So having something with your name on is important.

I always need help with fighting the accreditation red tape. It normally comes from working my butt off, and lots of negotiating, it would be easier for the race teams/governing bodies if I'd do it for free though.

I can only speak from the UK of course.

I'm sure you will get lots of offers.
Please encourage anyone not to just give images away for free, because the racers/teams/organisers will ask, and ask, and ask, then expect it. As I'm sure you are aware.

Provided images will only be used for mentioned websites, when teams/organisations ask for images, they will have to contact the owner of the images (the photographer).

Mentioned websites only have low res versions of the image.

And I know how hard it can be to get accreditation, that's one of the reasons I offer this.

Thanks for your reply

Olivier

The website says page http://www.grandprixfotografie.nl/index.php/copyrights-photo.html is in Dutch, but says "No reproduction without creditline. "

This could quite easily mean that your pics are lost to however wants to repro them, in any form anywhere, without any renumeration for future use - as long as they put a byline to the pic.

I am sure it will be nice for enthusiasts to get trackside at any cost, and then see their pics published in a real context, even if it is for no reward, but when the same photographer makes the jump to pro, they will see the damage that this sort of offer can have on the industry.

Good luck to everyone that signs up.
