Well, I guess this goes here. Its architecture.

Since I've been spending a lot of my time here, I decided photographing it would be a good way to relieve some of the stressed caused by this location.

This is the currently under construction new wing at the Glens Falls Hospital in upstate NY. Very odd architecture for this area. I think I need a tilt/shift lens or at least a better wide angle with a bit less distortion

Pretend the signs and things aren't there :P Just so you can see the whole wing.

Probably should crop out the barrels at the bottom ,just noticed that. Kept all the sky to show the rare blue skies in this area and to keep the standard height/width ratio without losing much of the building, although I wish there were some more whispy clouds today to make it interesting.

and a close-up of one of the more interesting points on the building.

Very nice! Things sure have changed in Glens Falls. The family and I left in 1988 for the west coast (after 42 years) and have only made an occassional trip back. Nice hospital and nice photos. It sure is a clear day in northern NY. Could you give the address of the hospital?

Things are starting to change up here. A lot is the same but a lot has been revived in the middle of Glens Falls. The buildings are being restored and this new addition to the hospital is kind of the highlight of the whole revitalization. In fact, a traffic circle was just passed to replace the big 5 corner intersection in the middle of the city. Hopefully once things settle down here I'll be able to walk around the city and take some photos of how everything is evolving around here.

I believe the website for the glens falls hospital is http://www.glensfallshospital.org/. Their address should be on there. If you cant find it there, let me know and I'll get it when Im there tomorrow.

Thanks for the comment :D

Got it - thanks. I started my DP career in the Glens Falls Insurance Company just a block or two from the 5 corner intersection. It is a pretty city - a few months of the year. It just gets way too cold in the winter. Glad to hear they are not giving it up.

Nice building but would look much better if you corrected the paralax error (converging verticals)

Here's what I've done in Photoshop in just a few minutes:

Simply: Cut the image (Ctrl X) Paste it back (Ctrl V) then press Ctrl+T

Press Alt+Ctrl+Shift and using the mouse draw out the top right corner untill the verticals are aligned then just using the tool pull up in the top middle slightly.

You will need to play around with it to get it right but its quite easy to do

Cheers
David

Thanks for the tips! I'll try it on the tall photo (even though it will make it not fit!) and post the result!
