Hi guys,

I recently bought the FS200 camcorder. I had a lot of problems with Window Movie Maker reading it correctly but now that it finally does it doesn't output correctly! It reads it as Widescreen but outputs as Full screen. I went to Options and made sure 16:9 was checked but still didn't work. I really want to output this correctly in the original format it was shot in which is 16:9.

Currently I must save the Widescreen video in the ImageMixer software program Canon provided in order for Window Movie Maker to read it correctly as Widescreen...so half my battle is solved but how do I output it correctly? It looks prefect in WMM...but not on Youtube! On Youtube it doesn't fill out the black video space..

I can go ahead and use ImageMixer forever to upload to Youtube since it works fine but editing-wise in ImageMixer is horrible, there are no 'Fade' effects...and I need those effect that WMM has.

If anyone can help me then that would be just amazing...I hope I explained this pretty well..

I had this same problem. I was trying to retrieve my videos by removing the SD card and pulling them from windows explorer...but it always downloaded as full screen. The solution! Use the Image Mixer 3 software that comes with the FS200 to download the files, and you HAVE TO use the white USB cable that comes with the camera to connect the camera and the computer...I tried some random USB cables that were the right size...but download ALWAYS failed or stalled out.

Just connect the camera, open up ImageMixer 3, choose "save files to PC", and select the option to download all files that have not been previously downloaded. Once they download...I just export them to my "Video" file and edit them in my App of choice...

Hope this helps!
