So, yesterday was the first street/film session in a while and I got a few tricks done myself, as well as took a couple of photos of the others. One of my 285hv's is dead I believe because I would put fully charged batteries in it, it would recycle, and not reach its peak for power. So, I only had the opportunity to use one flash, but here are some of the photos...

1. Pivot, warmup...

2. Rock to fakie...

3. FS rock...

4. Switch FS flip sequence, wish my 5d had better FPS since it didn't catch the flip in the sequence, but I'm going to buy a 1d early next year...

5. Ssingle frame switch FS flip...

6. And one random from the skatepark, kickflip...

Where is the "reservoir" located? PM if you'd like to keep it a secret, or if you wish not to say, it's all good, just curious.

Haha, thanks guys!Seems like different people have different preferences for the photos. I'm still learning a bit for shooting street skating, but I'm getting there.

As for the spot, it is located on the west side of Las Vegas, NV. You can see Kenny Anderson, John Rattray, and Vincent Alvarez skate it in this video...

Thanks man, For some reason I thought I had seen a place like that here in Southern California, but for the life of me I can't remember where it was.

Ya, these reservoirs are built throughout the Las Vegas valley. There's even one right next to my local park but we don't skate it since there isn't a runup to the wall like in the photos I posted. If you find a major wash that connects to a large body of water, maybe you might find one? The ones in Las Vegas connect to Lake Mead.

There are a ton of those kind of spots all over the place. There's at least 5 or 6 in the Phoenix metro area, and I know there are TONS in California.

I really like how in the first one, you've exposed the sky and the skater and that pylon thing well. I feel that I would have liked #3 the best, but if it had been at the same time of day as #1

Can you talk a little about your setup?

Edit: I also really dig the beginnings of light fall-off from the flash at the bottom of the frame of #1.

My setup is simple. Just 2x 285hv's triggered by Pocketwizards. It's a decent setup if you want quality on a budget. The only thing I miss from being able to trigger my old 430ex was more power intervals.

And info for shot one:
1/160th
iso 100
f/5.6
285hv, right, 1/4th power I believe

I'd probably crop some a little tighter, but SOLID stuff. You composed the riders and park features well. Keep rollin'
