well, you are shooting into the sun which isn't preferrable and you are using too high of a shutter speed....

What shutter speed would you recommend ?

1/320-1/400th max, but let's not get too hung up on Shutter speeds as it's your first time using a DSLR :)

When the sun is out at Croft (and that's rare enough) the bottom of the circuit only really works on a morning. You can then follow the sun around the circuit (keeping it behind you) as the day progresses.

As that man above says. :)

One think I was told was when starting out was try to match the focal length with the shutter speed (ie 300mm - 1/300th), then as you get more proficient lower the shutter speed so that you get a better feeling of action. Some on here use 500 and 600mm lenses and I have seen their shutter speeds as low as 1/60th
