First photos with my new Canon 400mm f/5.6L USM

Went hiking today with my new toy. The pink flowers in the woods were really something. Here is one shot I took of a dead tree and the flowers in the background.
It was handheld using a shutter speed of 1/320 which is supposed to be too slow for a 400mm lens, but it looks fine to me.

The second photo is of me and was taken also today by my friend who fortunately didn't drop the thing. It's a great lens I think!

Not so heavy (2.8 lbs), but we had to climb two hours up a really steep mountain to get to the Rhododendrons, so I can't say the difference in weight wasn't noticable. ;-)
