I have the Pixma ip 4000, set up with a parallel port. I just upgraded with a USB 2.0 card. Is the Pixma 4000 a USB 2.0 (manuals simply say USB, as does the Canon site), and will I notice an increase in print speed with USB. I was always under the impression that it didn't matter, in that even a parallel port sent information to the printer faster than it could process it, hence the buffer. I'm only really interested in print speed on long print jobs. When I try to work in the background, (2.0 MHZ and 512 MG RAM) the printer frequently pauses.
