What do you want the film for?

It appears to be the same as the Phottix grip, which I have. I loved it on my 20D, and still love it on my current 50D. No issues on either camera.

Why get an Elan 7? There's plenty of cheaper film cameras if you're using it like that. I think an AE-1 or K1000 sounds good. I love using those for B&W shots and although you can find plenty of lenses, typically they come with a prime so you're already forced into that artsy mode not being about to zoom but you get a nice constant ap.
