So I wake up one day and decide that I want to get into photography!

12 hours later and after reading several hundred reviews and comments about various cameras, debates about digital vs. film, and the ramblings of canon vs nikon fanatics, I finally make my choice.

There goes the money I've been saving up. I got myself a brand new 350D, and I'm proud to say that it's my first camera ever. Yeah, I never even owned a P&S (please don't hate me) :)

Anyway, spent 2 days just learning about photography from various websites (didn't take a single picture!) and then spent another 2 days learning about post processing. What you see below is the better lot from the first 50 photographs I ever took in my life (not REALLY, I've borrowed P&S's from friends in the past, and everyone's used a film camera once in their lives, but this is the first time I 'try' to become a photographer.

I've tried to learn as much as I can before posting these, learning the basic rules and then learning how to break them, etc. etc. All of these have been heavily post processed, and I would appreciate your comments on the final results.

Please be ruthless. The only way I'm going to learn is if you tell me what I did wrong, so let's see who can give the most negative comments :)

Thanks!

EDIT: Pictures removed to conserve bandwidth. Thank you for your comments..

No. 1, 6, 8 are keepers. No 8 could be sharper, though. The others are a bit out of focus and don't see to be saying anything. I really like #1 best. The color on color is quite interesting. If #6 didn't have a shiny floor it wouldn't have worked. Nice start.

I'd keep #2, and I'd go back and reshoot #6 so it's level. Especially with the floor that shiny, it feels like I could slide right out of the frame. #4 could be cool too, if i was straightened out (it leans left a little bit.) #5 will be tricky to do without getting the blown out flash spots . #10 Has a nice lateral composition and brightness range, but it isn't as sharp as it should be, and it may be cropped a little bit low on top. Overall it is a nice bunch considering your inexperience.

Too many pics for me to feel like commenting on individually, but you seem to have an active "eye" & the rest will come with time! ;)
