View Full Version : WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 189 - Windows or Glass
joayne
2nd of November 2009 (Mon), 09:27
Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is "WINDOWS or GLASS". As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for!
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO DAY INDEX (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

Welcome back, Joayne!
Hope you had a great trip.
When do we get to see your travel shots?
joayne
2nd of November 2009 (Mon), 09:48
Thanks Barbara...
The trip was fantastic, as the owner of the apartment where I stayed invited us to go with him 5 hours south for 2 days, to the Amalfi coast, which I thought would be a whole different trip "someday" :)
heh, well, I've only just got them downloaded and I'll start sorting through today I hope. I am a slow at sorting and grading and putting in the Metadata, but hopefully I'll get some stuff up on my SmugMug account and link to it in a day or so.

Ok, so I'm breaking the rules here as this was not shot this week ... my bad. However it fulfills my obligation of a photo in Italy and it has windows.
Here are some Italian windows.. The is the Ponte Vecchio in Florence:

John, Are you indoors for shooting due to weather?
joayne,
No....., more because I was exhausted.... Yesterday I hiked in the mountains for 8+ miles at Minnewaska State Park <-- click to see (http://johnbdigital.com/blog/parks/minnewaska.htm) and then stayed up to watch the Yankees loose.. :( so today after work I took it easy inside ;)

John, stunning set and looks like the walk was well worth it :)
Quite a hit fest last night.. tho, both the west coast teams end up as losers.. Glad I was away and didn't even think about the series :)

Skrim17,
Interesting NJ door... :)
I took this photo and found it interesting.
Here is an example of what a Canon Flash looks like through glass then red wine then glass again :)
It didn't affect flavor

OMG, I'm a huge Mr Peanut fan! I love that, Annie!!
Mike, your daughter is nearly a teenager and I can't even imagine that your son is walking and talking! Long time no post of the kids! ... but they look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. He had a blast and most of his shots show a much happier kid! Getting them both to smile at the same time is not so easy though!
Love the Mr. Peanut shot!

Thanks Joayne. My schedule has been nuts and I have let photography get away from me. I'm working hard to get back into the swing of things, but I feel like I am starting over. Not as easy as riding a bike!
