i'm gonna guess a racer...
it looks to be in photinias, so i am assuming it is at least semi arboreal by nature, and it doesnt seem to have keeled middorsal scaling.

?black rat snake? From the looks of it (eye, nose) it's non-venomous.

Nice shot, I am going to say it is a racer as well. I couldn't guess which... as the Blue Racer in Michigan has been seen in varieties from almost black to turquoise green. Definitely not a venemous species, but I can tell you that they don't like to be handled (from experience). You'll almost definitely get bitten picking one up in my area.

Yeah the difference between a black racer and a black rat snake is night/day. Racer=mean Rat snake=nice
