Arenal volcano

Hello, all

Today, we took a 100 mile trip to the north of the country, to see this awsome volcano.
A whole lot of mountain, and still active as you may see in the incandescent rocks tumbling down the slopes.
Quite a trip. I hope you like them.

Arenal, not Irazu.
Only one in Costa Rica with the characteristic cone shape.

Excellent photos.
I stayed at Tabacon a couple of years ago. Didn't see the volcano once.
...the only disappointment of the trip. 8:|

Right you are. Yours are the first non-postcard photos I've seen of Arenal.

There's always a next time... I visited the Spa at the Tabacon, and the view from there was breathtaking !

My wife and I were in Costa Rica last Christmas/New Years and made two trips to Arenal. Glad to see it really does exist. We were fogged/misted/rained out on both excursions (ah well, it is rain forest), but managed some shots of birds feeding outside the Arenal Observatory Lodge.
Hope to make it back to your beautiful country one day.
Oh yeah, loved your shots of the volcano ... and the people shots you have posted earlier.
