Another attempt at a tough subject. opinions always welcome.

I like it, it's very sharp. Would be nice if the background were all nicely blurred, but that is perhaps asking too much given the difficulty just getting the shot. What lens and settings were used?

Thanks for the kind words, I am using a Canon EOS D60 with a Sigma 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 with mini zoom Macro. settings were, ISO of 100, on Tv of 0"5 , 1/32, on tripod with remote shutter release.

Nice shot. Very shot. I haven't seen any butterfly in NY. I am dying for one........:)

Thank you kindly for the words of encouragement. I caught him fluttering as well, I like the look of this as well, let me know what you think about it.

Wow! We have a home in Pacific Grove, CA, where the monarchs winter; I'm encouraged to go after them with my 20D, arriving this week.
