I'm shopping for a DELL desktop most likely (or similar), and would like some advice on what graphics card I should spec out. Does it matter? My DELL laptop is running ATI, and the user color management interface is quite weak. I will likely connect a NEC P221W monitor. Any advice is appreciated.

Desktop wise, ati's 4850 is pretty nice for it's price, enough for a few video feeds, and much more than enough for photo editing. Really, just about anything non-integrated with 256mb or more of dedicated (not shared) memory will work just fine with CS4. If you have a 5dmkii and do multiple files or a few dozen layers, perhaps a 512 or 1gb card will be better. Going with a standard desktop though, you can usually just get the cheapest thing and upgrade later for less, if the current card isn't good enough somehow.
