I think it's a great picture but the focus clearly isn't on the food.

I agree with what he said, for food photography I think the focus should be on the food, to show detail. I think a great food shot would be one that would make you crave the food in the picture.

You should have tried shooting from above. Anyways, great capture.

Nice attempt, and good framing. But your focus is on the chopsticks and the spoon/bowl underneath it. And in all honesty, the woman's chest region is right behind where you focused, so that doesn't help. Had you focused on the beef sashimi, it would have been perfect. Also, I think your border is a little big.
