Woke up early this morning and decided to check out National Creek Falls here in Southern Oregon, near Crater Lake.

These were my three favorites from this morning's outing. In retrospect now that I had a chance to look at them on a bigger screen, I think I'm going to try a slightly faster shutter speed. I also remembered this morning to adjust the polarizer when I re-orient the camera from landscape to portrait. All comments and suggestions appreciated!

No, i think the shutter speed you used created a very nice effect with those lovely falls.

You have created some very emotive shots of a beautiful scene.

Slacker,
I had a similar morning today! Woke up full of energy and went for a hike and discovered a whole lot of waterfalls on a dark day (long exposures :D). I'll post one or two pics in a second. Your pics turned out great! I love the light and shadows in the first pic and the colors saturation is beautiful in all of them. Good stuff!

I really like the first pic. The falls look very imposing. I like the blur the 1/4th second exposure created; at first I thought it could maybe be a little larger, but I really like it -- good balance.

Thanks again everyone!!

I was talking with a co-worker this morning about my hike and she mentioned the following brochure... I Googled it to see if I could download a pdf of it and came across this website for falls in the southern Oregon area:

I really like the lighting in these. Very soft and subtle and yet there is a crispness about the images. Between the softness of the moss and the apparent softness of the firs this time of year it's all lovely. And I think it's supposed to rain all week so relax, the sun will be back out by Saturday.
