all very nice, I like the different angles. However, to me, the first 2 seem to be a little TOO angled to the side, almost to the point where you have to turn your head as if you're looking at a picture that was shot vertically and had not been rotated.

The expressions are great, though, very well done.

Very nice John. The angle of the comp for the second shot adds interest to the photo, and looks good in B&W. ;)
I think my fave of the group is the fourth shot in front of the tree.:D
While the third shot is also nice, I feel the background competes a bit too much with the subjects for the viewers attention. I think I would have liked to have had the couple a bit closer to the camera for that shot, and the background would have been blown out a bit. ;)
It looks like this was shot on a rather large estate?

I really like the second one best except I have to fight the urge to reach out and straighten it.

Don't angle them so much. If you have ot tilt your head to view them correctly, you know you have it too slanted.

Number 4 is easily my favourite but I think number 3 would have been great without all that competing background. The first 2 could have been nice but I also felt the urge to tilt my monitor and straighten those pics out.

Overall very nice exposures.

Thanks Carzee!!!

My 85 f1.8 is sitting in a shelf........I will use it this weekend for a dance shoot. It's really the perfect lens for performance/fast moving subjects. I've now come to realize that the 1.8 and 1.2 are two different beasts...........you really need both!!!

Ahhh, so thats what you've been doing with the f1.8. Very very nice.

Hmmmm there is a 1.8 on Miranda's market... I might get my first tele lens.

Ro1,
I think your attempt at "adding spice" by trying different angles yielded a winner in the last shot. All of these are nice crisp and clean images. Very nice.

that's a beautiful couple!

i'd save the angle experimenting for something else. so i'd keep them all straight. but your pictures are all really nice and that couple stayed connected and smiling for all the shots and that makes your pictures really warm. they were comfortable with you and it shows.

i'm concerned about the overpowering beads she's wearing. are those cultural beads or fashion beads. if cultural, maybe i'd like to see the entire cultural dress up. if fashion, they're way too overpowering. she may like them now but might regret wearing them years later.

my favorite is number 3. but wish you would have pushed them right up against that huge tree to create a leafy bg.

really nice try.

Thanks Jal, JF and DAve!!! :-)

Hey Expose........ - those beads are purely fashion...........they might look silly in the future but right now they are HOT.............:-) How do I know?? I'm not sure really.

Thanks Sazabi............If you meant the 85, it was the 1.2 version. But to be honest, the 50 f1.4 performed pretty much on par...........stopped down, all lenses are really the same
