Both shot with the 350 XT and 17-40 on a tripod.
Sometimes, I shoot something in a landscape orientation and always feel that I also have to try portrait...........drive me NUTS!!!

Looks like you're having fun nailing that shot. Keep it up, but I curious about all the red light from below. Interesting.
Anyway, think of it as practice for the Sydney Harbour Bridge shoot - you know you want to!

Roan,
I really like your work, though I don't believe you can take THE ultimate BB shot, since there are so many ultimates at that site!
I thought you might appreciate this one I took last year with my trusty G-1. It was taken earlier in the day I briefly met you at the parade with Vadim. No mood or "ghosts" from long exposure like yours, but we sure had the clouds working that day.

For Leo,
My favorite place to shoot the NYC skyline is Alexander Hamilton Park in Weehawken, NJ. Its opposite the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings in midtown, but you can shoot panoramas from the Verrazzano all the way up to the Washington Bridge.

My other favorite is Liberty State Park in Jersey City, where there are views of Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and you feel so close to lower Manhattan (World Trade Center area), that you can reach out & touch it.

The Bklyn Promenade gives you a good view downtown. Queens have some nice places to shoot too...........there is a restaurant called Waters Edge in Qns where you can shoot from thier parking lot. it gives you a nice view of Midtown East with the Chrysler building and etc....

Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can... 'Sorry, we watched the movie recently.
Anyway, I love the lines created by the cables. What aperture did you shoot at and for how long?
Thanks.

Very, very nice pics :) I better get in my BB shots too sometime. RoanJ, do you have someone with you when you shot these? You know, for security. I know the pathway is heavily traveled, but at dusk/nighttime it might get dicey. Or maybe not.

I have the same concern in general. Sometimes I just don't know if I should take pics by myself in certain areas (especially early in the morning and late at night). I guess it's just the way of life in big cities.

It's pretty safe.............I always shoot by myself and never felt threatened or in danger (especially in the city).
And yeah.............I wanna see your attempt on the BB. :D
