I had my first ride at a local MX track on Sunday, and took a DSLR along to take my first MX photos of some of the other classes racing between my rounds.

It was hot, dusty and windy. So dusty that the final round of races was cancelled. But the dust made for some good photos.
All shot with a 5D2 and 70-200 2.8L IS.

thats impressive!! never thought 5d2 can even come close to those results in ai servo mode.

Mastamarek, don't let the haters convince you the 5D2 can't autofocus. AI Servo mode is deadly accurate. I shoot just as much sport with my 5D2 as I do my 1D3 and find that each can do things the other can't. I get a larger yield from the 1D3 but my favourite shots most often come from the 5D2.

I think I saw a thread on here recently titiled 'Show us your best roost shot'. You have some very worthy shots!

love the 2nd pic, 1st would be perfect if you can edit the plates so they aren't blown out as bad, it can be a little distracting

I like #1 .
I know dust one of the club tracks I shoot at ,I end up with a inch of dust on my camera.
