I was wondering what else you guys do...and if photography is the thing or is the other thing you do the thing and you capture the memories with your camera?
I enjoy cycling, running, swimming (aka triathlon), tennis, wrenching on my car, some hiking, and sailing. Hard to find the time! :)

Work as a mechanic... hobbies: photography (obviously), welding, biking (trail), baseball, football, road hockey, broom ball, skiing, tobogganing :), paintball, baking, knitting, sewing, music (piano, clarinet), gardening, yard work, farming... and that's all I can think of for now.

I enjoy time at the gym, hiking, golf, reading, snowshoeing in the winter, and storm chasing in the spring/early summer.

Ah, storm chasing, that sounds like good fun. Part of the enjoyment of sailing has been learning about weather, though I still think I know next to nothing :)

Travel, scootering (used to be motorcycling), shooting big caliber pistols and rifles, recumbent tricycling and kayaking (flatwater). Also reading raunchy poetry aloud in coffee houses--when I can find one liberal enough.

It's amazing! Although, don't believe everything you see on Discovery Channel or The Weather Channel. They will have you believing your life is in jeopardy all the time. Truth be told, it's a lot of boredon while you (potentially) drive long distances to your target area, follwed by a couple/several hours of excitement while you follow/document the storm, followed by a lot of boredom while you drive to your hotel/home in the dark. And it can be done very safely without getting your car destroyed by hail or worse.

Other than photography.... the martial arts (specifically I have studied Yoshinkan Aikido, Shotokan Karate, and Juijitsu)...
To a lesser extent I've an aquarium and a gecko terrarium I maintain... with my next posting I hope to try and turning the aquarium into a salt water reef tank...
And finally anything that gets me out of doors. My dream is to become one of those photographers whom disappear into the middle of no where for weeks at a time and come out with photos you can't imagine of places no one else has been to. We'll see if it ever happens lol but yeah its a dream...

I ride motorcycles. My 51st year riding, and I'm still here to talk about it.
I've got seven of 'em, four running, mostly ride my Suzuki SV 650. My favorite kind of ride is twisty mountain roads - happy to say there are plenty of them around here.

I've never had more than one two-wheeler at a time, but after reading your post I had to use my fingers and toes to add my years of riding up. I got my first, a Lambretta motorscooter, at 14. I'm 66 and ride a Suzuki Burgman 650 motorscooter, so we are about even in years of riding.
In between then and now I've had Ducatis, Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis and BMWs. Not having to squeeze a clutch on the Burgman is sure easier on my arthritic hand. I always enjoyed the twisties--God made the mountains for Ducatis! I bet you had a few close calls on a bike--I've had my share, thanks to the Oscars of the world.

I used to be one of the heavy hitters in street racing arround here. My screen name is a play on words of "Mark won". This was a common thing to hear late on a friday or saturday night. When I started on internet forums thay were all car related, so it kinda fit.
Now days I really dont have another hobby.

You'd like some of the Antique Stores out here in Arizona.
You can often find antique assaying (sp?) scales and such.
Sounds like a fun activity!

That is an excellent idea. Especially in Jan when it is -30 with 50 mph winds here. If I do any specific ones I should check out?

The mining communities of Globe, Superior, Miami (pronounced Myamah) out here are good candidates.
Jerome used to be good as well but the "qualtiy" antiques shops have kind of gone by the way.

we camp and fish alot, and like to take our boats out and play with them. From sitting in the living room to cruising our nearest river looking for eagles and osprey is about a ten minut shot, less if the trailer is already hooked up.
we have a canoe, a jonboat, a small fishing boat for the high mountain lakes and our favorite is our flat bottom river sled with a jet pump. It will go where no boat should, as long as you go there wide open fast. Seeeing the river rock bottom going under the boat at thirty riding on 3 or 4 inches of water is ALMOST too scary to be fun.

Yep. I'm 67. Hey, you should join us on the SV/DL Rider's list (I'm the list owner). Burgman riders welcome! http://groups.google.com/group/sv-dl-riders?hl=en

I've had a bunch.
First, photography. I did it in the 80s, but gave it up due to the expense of processing. Then, took it up again two years ago with digital.
Surfing is my first love, and will always be a part of my life. It's borderline religion. I won't live in Atlanta forever. But I'm not the only one. There are hundreds of surfers in Atlanta, and we all communicate online and have a "club" called the Atlanta Surf Posse. Ten years ago I organized the first surfing club of Atlanta called GASS, Greater Atlanta Society of Surfers. I still have friends from those connections.
Music. I've been making talentless music for 25 painful years. My music stinks, but yet I'm still at it occasionally. Now I just strum guitars, but I thought I was going to be a rock star a long time ago.
There were a few summers in which I made girls my main hobby, but slowed down and got married.
So, that's about it.

We do lots of outdoor activities like camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, geocaching and orienteering. Modeling, scratch building, casting and anything else train related in several different scales. Genealogy research and a few other things we don't have money or time for...

Snowboarding!
I have lived in Northern Utah my whole life and last season was the first time I had ever been to a ski resort. Sad, the best snow on earth, and it took me 22 years to take advantage.
But I very quickly fell in love with snowboarding, and I will be doing as much as I can afford this season!

Flyfishing to relax and kickboxing to keep fit. I also love music and collect vinyl - mostly 1960's psych rock through to underground/indie stuff.
