i don't use strap most of the time unless I have to (when travelling).

Hand strap only. The neck strap just made shooting so uncomfortable for me, that I would rather just not use the camera at all if the strap was attached... And since I love to take pictures, I had to find an alternative. :)

Neck only (with an additional strap on the 300 2.8 when I use that).

Neck strap. If the camera's out of the case, the strap's around my neck. To me, it's insurance.

I don't use straps anymore, not since getting a Cotton Carrier. Took the straps off my 40D and one 20D the day I got the CC, and haven't needed them since. The only strap left is the one on the second 20D, which I left on because my wife sometimes uses that camera, and I didn't want to let her use it without a strap.

Otherwise, I'm strap free and lovin' every minute of it.

Depends on what I'm shooting:
Football games, the 2nd body is on a strap (Shoulder?) RS-7
Indoor sports, no strap
Walking about, either neck or shoulder strap, maybe in a Lowepro top loader

R strap for one camera, connected R straps for two cameras. Love these things

A friend just got a spider carrier, which he says "handles big lenses" better than the cotton carrier.

Strapless. It shows of my sholders!

I only have the strap when it will be in my hand all day. I dont me a 3 hour shoot, as all day. I mean like theme park trip all day. And even then it is wrapped arround my wrist most of the time not arround my neck. As soon as I get home I take it rignt back off.

Neck. Even though I hold the camera and only use the neck strap on my shoulder when I'm not shooting.

After sticking with the Canon OEM straps for three years I recently upgraded to the Optech Pro (http://www.procameragear.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/30/products_id/141) straps and I find it quite a nice feature to be able to detach the bulky neck loop and end up with two small, trailing connector straps which can be joined together to form a mini strap. I don't use the mini strap as a strap, but it really helps to have the clutter quickly vanish when using the camera from a holster bag or on a tripod.

I do have a hand strap but never got on with it and it soon came off.

I'm using a neck strap but most of the time I just have it wrapped twice around my wrist.
Just feels safer holding it that way haha :p

currently using my Smugmug straps on both cameras, but I don't feel comfortable with the 1DMKIII and anything heavy attached just using the strap... call me paranoid but I rarely let the weight hang unsupported ( always keep it in my hands...)

I have a Canon E1 and Op/Tech Connectors on both my 1v-HS and 1D Mark IIn. I don't always work with the shoulder strap attached, but it's ready to if need be.

I also have connectors on other gear.

Neck straps, Hand Straps, R Straps...... it all depends on what I'm shooting and what lens, camera combo I've got, not to mention my mood.

I once carried two cameras around my neck on an OPTECH Reporter Strap. I now use an OPTECH Dual harness for two cameras and the Reporter Strap when I carry a single camera. The quick release snaps on these straps are interchangeable.

Unfortunately the image of the Dual Harness is not with me wearing it! My belly is a lot bigger than this guy's!

None. I sometimes have an extra long one to sling over my shoulder, but I never got used to straps. Always seem to get in the way.

I'll probably have some bad experience dropping my camera and shattering it into a million pieces to teach me the error of my strapless ways.

Neck strap; my son caries it around and he likes how the cam bumps his shins. No way could he do that with a wrist strap.

I have a Tamrac Boomarang neck strap, and I really like it. Soft on my neck, with a bit of give when you are walking... and it holds my extra memory cards. And it easily clips off when using the tripod.

Until you accidentally drop your camera....

If it's a heavy rig I will use a short leash attached to the right side of the camera body. Nothing is in the way from landscape to portrait mode.
But still it isn't dangling from my neck.

When shooting with two bodies, one has the neck strap that I normally sling over my shoulder when using the other body. The second body is on the R strap.

Thanks - I just ordered my first Optech Pro strap from POTN - it will be a pleasure not to have the strap in the way when I use a tripod!

never used a strap, even when it was on the camera. Now that I got a grip, I may buy a handstrap.

for the most part, I don't use one. Funny, I just got used to NOT using one because with a strap on, the camera wags around and you can't let the camera go anyway. Also, holding on to it with my hand provides better control over the camera.

Plus, I shoot sports primarily and am constantly moving around, flipping the camera aspect from landscape to portrait and using the grip so a strap gets in the way.

Neck strap only , Upstrap with kevlar in the strap, it's the 4th strap I've had for my camera and I've had it about 5 months now and don't even have to think about straps anymore. It's small, out of the way, doesn't slip on my shoulder, comfortable and stores easily with my camera in all of my bags (not bulky).

I use an Optech Pro Loop strap, but I throw away the neoprene bit and just use the little straps. That stops cameras swinging around, as I usually have two on me at weddings.

I posted about it a while ago, here is the link with pictures. Not a real big deal but it works better then I had imagined it would and never slips off my shoulder anymore.

3 different and frequent situations call for 3 different approaches

My Canon E1 Hand Strap is always on the camera (400D gripped)

1 - When shooting seriously with a 70-200 lens, E1 hand strap + Cotton Carrier, with either a second camera on the holster, or other lenses on the belt.

2 - When shooting for fun during family/friends gatherings where I don't need to walk around too much, just the E1 hand strap.

3 - When shooting for fun / walking about / no 70-200 to bog me down / one-lens solution, E1 hand strap with Rstrap RS-4.

I also have a Optech Pro-loop strap connected to the Blackrapid Rstrap CR1/FR1 connection, but I don't use that very often.

The amount of money I've spent on gear-carrying solutions above can probably get me a decent prime lens, but at least I like how they work.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the Crumpler neck strap yet. I can wear that all day...with the Canon strap that came with my 40D, my neck would get tired after a few hours.

If I'm afraid my camera may get stolen, and I really need to keep a hand on it, I also use an Op/tech wrist strap and keep the camera in a Lowepro holster bag when not in use.

I'm so accustomed to using a neck strap and letting the camera go at whim, that I'm afraid I would drop it if I tried using anything else.

I like the idea of a dual harness setup a lot, but I think they may swing around too much when on the move.

I have to add that I absolutely adore how litigious American society is:

http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Harness-Black-Binocular-Included/dp/B002IUQ180/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1258262321&sr=1-2

Sorry to inform, but the cameras are not included! For 30 dollars I really would have thought that two SLRs would come with it.
