I just returned from Alaska from a 12 day cruise/train tour. What an adventure! Talk about scenery and wildlife, they have it there!!!

Here are a few shots of the area wildlife that I was able to get shots of. More available here:

Awesome stuff!!! The bear is great. Love the whales too. My wife and I are going to Canada (touring around the Vancouver area) later in the summer and we are planning on doing a whale watching trip whilst we are there, but I have concerns about whether I will need to be careful to keep my camera dry - did you have to take any precautions?

Thanks Leo and Bruce.

nitsch, thank you too. As for weather, I feel that it is always best to be prepared, however, I had great conditions in Alaska and weather was not a problem except for one day and I was able to use an umbrella to keep dry.

As for Vancouver, B.C., since you are planning to visit in late summer, you are likely to have great weather as well. Have fun and be sure to share some photos when you return!

I am actually from the North end of Vancouver Island and that whale tail shot is a lucky one indeed! In all the time i have lived here i have seen blue whales only once. Killer whales on the other hand are like seaguls.... they are all over the place!!!

i really like that blue whale tail shot.... Well done:D
